2000: after John Muszala collects B/C parts for years, a deal with warbird collector Max Chapman was reached and this historic restoration began.
2002: restoration project - John Muszala, Pacific Fighters, Idaho
First ever full dual-cockpit (TF) configuration, designate TP-51C
2003: June, reg. N24177 to Max Chapman
2004: May 5, first flight, paint to follow
2004: EAA Airventure Oshkosh - "Best P-51"
The only TP-51C in existence today (2004/5). Very detailed work by John Muszala as usual. The cockpit is something you have to see, a wonderful blend of original and new.
2005: Oshkosh Airventure flown by Ed Shipley
2006: New paint - 15th AF "Betty Jane", to match the other Chapman P-51s
2007: purchased by the
Collings Foundation. On tour with the B-17, B-24 and B-25
2009: Very popular and flies regularly. You can fly the P-51!! Hang on to your last 2 or 3 paychecks to enjoy a historic flight.
2010: Still flying happy riders all around the US
2011: You can have the P-51C throttle, stick and adrenaline in your hands!
