William Yoak: A time frame of when this photo was taken would be of some help. My guess is that this aircraft was owned by the late Don Plum . He owned two Mustangs until the time when he was to lose his life along with John Bolton who was flying another Mustang. Both aircraft departed in bad weather following an airshow and they went down approximately two miles apart. This happened around 1975 and I am not exactly certain where the location they departed from was but , I think it was in Texas. Both of Plum's Mustangs were based in Windsor, Ontario.


Mark Clark: How about N1451D. "Saturday Night Special" The red wing tips give it away. I sold this to Nathan Davis of Tipton IN. this past July.

Ryan Harris: This particular case is P-51D 44-74446 N1451D now owned by Nathan Davis of Indiana. She is commonly known as "Saturday Night Special". She was also formerly owned by Michael Clark, and during his ownership she was crashed twice. Her second crash she went in on her very first post-restoration flight and is famous for being the Mustang that killed two cows with her wings. This appears to be this particular Mustang. Maybe someone else has a different answer.


T.J. Johansen: Case #148. Difficult to see the N# on the bird, but my guess is that it is N151W 45-11540 either while owned by Joe Mabee, or shortly after James Michaels bought it!
