That's 43-6351 which was up in the bay area when Hayward was a hotbed
of warbird activity. Was crashed (don't know where or by whom) and, I
understand, eventually the surviving parts ended up with Pete Regina.
Would be interesting to know where Dick Phillips photo of this airplane
was taken.

This is where the tail of N51PR came from! The aircraft was a P-51B 43-6351
and was N68738. It bellied in at Hayward CA in 57 and was not badly damaged,
but was scrapped by the owner anyway. The tail survived in Mike Coutchess's
hands until Pete Regina got it for his composite P-51C.
