I had a friend who looked at this a/c while looking for a warbird (he bought a T-28B). As I remember it was restored and for offered for sale by Art Teeters ie Cal Pacific in CA about 10 years ago. I don't know the ID.

Correct location Jack, you can barely see the large old hangar with "Salinas" on it in the background. This P-51 I was able to see in the late 90's (98 or 99) but Art would not let me take any pictures of it at that time. It was kept in airworthy condition by Art and staff. The owner came by mabye once or twice a year and flew it. I was told that he always used 3-point landings which is not too commmon in the USA today. Someone told me that it is hard on the rear fuselage. No name on it at that time, just the star and bars. Still flying today, in different colors.

This plane belonged to William Lacy of Hawaii. It was restored by Art Teeters in Salinas and sold to Lady Alice Corp.(Bob Jepson) in 2000. The aircraft, beautifully restored, is flying out of Savannah, Ga. as Lady Alice. Registered as N151MW the aircraft's serial number is 45-11633.

Yes, I'm proud to say that I was allowed the great privilege of flying in this very plane with my father Bill Lacy. On one such flight from Oahu to the Big Island, when I was 6 years old, his love of acrobatics led to my emptying the contents of my stomach all over my pretty new dress. I believe my father was happiest when flying his P-51 & yes, what a great pilot he was.
