Thanks to: James Church, this P-51 is s/n 44-13016, registration #N5551D, and formerly served in the Royal Australian Air Force as A68-674. It had been registered in Australia for a time as VH-CVA, before returning to the 'States in 1984. It was initially owned by Steve Wilmans, and registered as N9200N, until it was sold by him in 1996. The a/c was purchassed by a Calvin Burgess, of Edmund, Oklahoma, and sent to Matt Jackson's restoration shop for rebuild. It now wears the markings of an a/c that served with the 353rd Fighter Group, ( black and yellow checks on nose, yellow rudder ) as "Dove of Peace", fusalge code LH-X. This a/c was flown by WWII ace, and 353rd F.G. Commanding Officer, Glenn Duncan, who ended the war with 19 kills to his credit. The serial number of the original "Dove of Peace" was 44-73060.
