We don't know anything about this P-51 or about the photo date/place.
Good Luck! Jim Church:
44-74417, N6372T, was, at the time of your photo, owned by Dr. Garland Brown, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was then purchased by Bob Byrne of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, in the mid 1980s. He repainted it as an aircraft of the 192FS, Nevada ANG, which was flown by Erv Ethell, the late Jeff Ethell's father. It's paint scheme was modified from the original somewhat by Byrne, and it carried the name "Tabasco, Hot Stuff." This aircraft had served in Canada as RCAF 9586, and had at one time carried the Canadian registration CF-MWB. It is currently owned by Dick James of Fennimore, Wisconsin, but the name has been changed to "Donna-Mite."
adds: This Mustang was owned by Garland Brown of Fort Wayne Indiana until 1986 or so. It was obtained by Bob Byrne when he was buying and selling Mustangs.

|In '71 or '72, one of my classmates told me his uncle had a P-51. I couldn't think of anyone with the same last name as his that I knew of that had one. Now, at this time, I was a 12 year old "Plane Crazy" kid, but I did gather all the knowledge that I could considering "warbirds"." I later saw Dr. Brown getting in the P-51 at Smith Field in Ft. Wayne, IN. This was around 1984 or '85. I didn't think of Timmys' uncle being his mothers brother. Dr. Brown looked just like Timmy. Had I been more of a friend to Timmy in the early 70's, I might have gotten a ride in the best machine man ever made. I'm such a Mustang fan, I named my eldest daughter Allison. She is in the National Guard in Maryland with her husband, who is regular army. I'm the guy who dyed my hair in honor of the 357th fighter group at GML 2007. I figured football fans paint their bodies in their team colors, I'm gonna do this. My family told me to act my age. I was about a month into my 47th year in september 2007. I gotta do something for the 51st anniversary of my birth. I'm submitting this from a friends computer, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to respond to anything at my E-mail.
